This is awesome! Smart home privacy is a huge issue right now, and doing it 100% locally is definitely the right approach. As a 16-year-old developer currently building a cloud proxy mesh in Rust, I’m always fascinated by low-level network traffic manipulation and security. Did you face any performance bottlenecks while parsing traffic locally on lower-end appliances, or did you write custom optimisations for this? Great work on making it open and privacy-focused!"

yes, not easy to understand but it sounds like they have built a system of agents that monitors your outbound connection to prevent smart devices to connect to untrusted endpoints on the internet.

Sounds like it could have been solved by creating a vlan for the smart devices with no internet access (or no internet except for white listed addresses)
