Hungary economy tanked during Orban and now really needs to recover quickly.

I think he spent all his energy playing macho man for his base and cuzying up to Putin while the rest of the east Europe were doing rapid improvements (see for example Poland).

I guess symbol-politics is much easier than actually running the country
