Tendavo | Founding Engineer | Stockholm | On-site (Hybrid) | Full-time | Visa | https://tendavo.se/

Tendavo helps SMEs win public procurement tenders - a massive, neglected market. We are bootstrapped, profitable and have around 100 happy customers without taking a dollar of external investment. We are based at the SSE Business Lab, where companies such as Klarna and Legora originated.

We spent the last year validating PMF. The CTO has built the core foundation, and now we are hiring a Founding Engineer to architect and code the rest of the platform side-by-side.

The Team: CEO: ex-McKinsey | CTO: +13 years of startup experience, previously founded a data startup scraping 50m pages/week.

The Role: You will work side-by-side with the CTO to build the platform from the ground up. You get full technical ownership to design agents and LLM workflows that replace our manual routines. This is a high-agency role: We have validated Product-Market Fit; your job is to scale it.

Tech: Python (AI & core systems), PostgreSQL, TypeScript, GCP

We offer equity, mentorship from a technical team, and a clear path to VP/Head of Engineering.

Reach out to me directly at tom.dickson@tendavo.se - we'd love to hear from you!

SmarterDx | 150-250k+ + equity + benefits | Remote (US only) | Multiple roles | https://smarterdx.com/careers

We build clinical AI that empowers hospitals to analyze the complete record of every patient to fully capture the value of care delivered. Founded by physicians in 2020, our proprietary AI platform understands the nuances of clinical reasoning, enabling hospitals to accurately reflect every patient visit for fair reimbursement. By doing so, hospitals can recover millions in earned revenue, enhance care outcome and quality metrics, and optimize healthcare operations.

The current team is very high functioning (MD + data scientist combos, former ASF board member, Google and Amazon engineers, Stanford LLM researchers, etc.) and initially scaled the company to $1MM+ in contracted revenue without raising capital.

SmarterDx recently became part of Smarter Technologies as part of a $1.1B deal by New Mountain Capital, a leading growth-oriented investment firm. We have been backed by top investors including Floodgate (Lyft, Twitch, Twitter), Transformation Capital, and Bessemer for a total of $71M, including our $50M Series B, and are experiencing an incredible growth trajectory customer and revenue wise with no signs of slowing down with 150% YoY headcount growth! This time last year, we were at ~110 employees, and are above 280 as of today!

We are looking for: Security Engineering Manager - Staff and Senior SWEs, Full Stack and Backend focused - Staff ML Engineers - Data Science Managers - Staff Data Scientists - Senior Data Analysts - Senior Product Managers - More!

We have PMF, and it's time to scale! For more and to apply, see https://smarterdx.com/careers

WireScreen (Series A) | Senior Software Engineer | NYC - hybrid | Full-time | $165k-$210k base + equity | https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/wirescreen/89e08ab3-01ed-4296-9459-...

WireScreen is a fast-growing Sequoia-backed Series A startup building the go-to open source intelligence platform for navigating global supply chains and China-related risk. While China maintains some of the world’s most detailed corporate ownership records, the real challenge is connecting the dots. That’s where we come in—surfacing the networks, relationships, and financial ties behind companies to support national security, compliance, and regulatory oversight.

We’re looking for senior software engineers to build our data platform and help us ingest and model messy, unstructured data into insights and actionable intelligence. At the heart of this is a 50m+ entity knowledge-graph with 200m+ relationships represented - and we need your help to build a system that can scale this up by an order of a magnitude. Today, we mostly use Python, Postgres, Airflow and Pyspark.

If you have prior startup experience, can bring strong Python (PySpark is a big plus) experience and have previously worked with TB-scale data sets - we’d love to talk to you.

Apply here: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/wirescreen/89e08ab3-01ed-4296-9459-...

Or you can reach out to me directly at leo.green@wirescreen.ai - I lead recruiting here at WireScreen, but if I don't know the answer I'll ping our engineering folks and come back to you fast.

You’d be a great fit if you:

I’m open to trialing potential partners on a commission basis, and if we’re a good fit and see results, I’m ready to discuss a strategic equity partnership or salary.

Let’s connect if you’re excited to help take a business from early traction to serious growth.

MONUMENTAL | https://www.monumental.co/ | Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Full Time | Onsite

We make robots that autonomously construct buildings. We are currently developing and manufacturing our autonomous bricklaying system in the beautiful centre of Amsterdam. And our robots are already earning real revenue operating on construction sites all over the Netherlands.

We're looking for experienced software engineers for PLATFORM and FULL STACK who can help us solve problems like:

- Data sync and analytics queries across a fleet of robots (that can be offline for hours at a time)

- Rapid deployment and iteration of experimental software changes across firmware, control software and UI

- Modelling buildings in code and finding the right UI for operators to edit them

Check out the progress we've already made on Atrium, our operating system for robotics: https://www.monumental.co/atrium

We're rapidly scaling up operations and we need experienced engineers who can build the systems that manage all of that complexity. If you think that 'full-stack' could reasonably mean debugging firmware, mixing buckets of mortar _and_ writing React components, we are looking for you. Robotics experience not required!

Profitmind | Web Scraping Junior Developer | Remote or Pittsburgh | $90-110k | Full-time | https://www.profitmind.com/

At Profitmind, we're building massive-scale ecommerce datasets to use in AI training/inference, and we need a junior engineer to help develop the scraping infrastructure for product data. You'll be reverse-engineering undocumented APIs, handling anti-bot systems, and dealing with edge cases like pagination limits, rate limiting, and sites that change their protection schemes without warning. It's fun work! The technical side involves analyzing a site's network requests, deobfuscating and reading obfuscated javascript, and implementing simple HTTP request scraping to full browser automation. You'll also work on the infrastructure layer: state management for resumable scrapes, deduplicating products, data integrity, and monitoring systems to detect when sites change.

The work you'll be doing is in the hot path of our company, so the systems you will build need to be performant and maintainable. You should have solid Python skills and experience scraping ecommerce websites and APIs. You should also like the slightly-obsessive investigative nature of the work.

If you worked in scraping or botting in the past, please hit me up!

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but to everyone commenting here saying they’re hiring and asking people to send their CVs —

please have the basic decency to send a simple acknowledgement or revert after receiving them.

This has happened repeatedly over the past few months after sending dozens of emails from these threads, sometimes 10+ at a time. Not getting even a basic response feels extremely disheartening.

I know it’s a tough time for everyone searching for a job, and we all understand if things are slow —

but a small confirmation like “Received, we’ll check” or “Not hiring anymore” takes 5 seconds and makes a world of difference.

Let’s be kinder to each other. It’s been a very hard year

teeray•5h ago
It would be nice to have minimum standards for being allowed to post for things like you mention. Identification of violations and enforcement is, of course, the challenge.
samdoesnothing•5h ago
God forbid these poor hiring managers take 5 whole minutes out of their day to have some basic human decency. Half of these roles are fake or have been posting here for months looking to hire a unicorn for pennies on the dollar.
seneca•5h ago
Most job openings are receiving several hundred, if not thousands, of resumes as soon as they're posted thanks to AI powered resume mills. Most resumes don't even get reviewed, let alone acknowledged. It's basically impossible to keep up with. Recruiters aren't ignoring people because they're cruel, they are being drowned by AI slop and resume mills.
doctorpangloss•5h ago
haha, i'm pretty sure ignoring job applications has been pervasive long before AI.

the amount of attention this thread is receiving is a death knell for the "Who is hiring" item

burningChrome•4h ago
Kind of crazy, but I've always written my own resume and cover letters and even my stuff is being drowned out by the same slop. It frustrating getting your AI resume filtered out - its an entirely different thing when you do things to stand out, and its still being drowned out.

Says a lot about the current state of hiring in the tech.

cruffle_duffle•3h ago
I wish I could just mail my printed resume. That extra little bit would add some authenticity…
ericmcer•5h ago
I felt the same way until I saw a friend (engineer not a recruiter) post an opening for a hybrid job on LinkedIn. There were literally 100s of comments from people who didn't even live in the same country. Not to point fingers but they were all from India, had the same rhetoric and the few I clicked on didn't seem qualified.

I am not blaming anyone, I can imagine making >100k in India enables you to take care of your whole family. At the same time do you really expect companies to treat applicants with as much care when they have gone from ~100 applicants per job to several thousand?

umutisik•4h ago
The number of resume submissions from here is not a lot. It's not at all like on LinkedIn.
Aurornis•5h ago
I posted jobs in the monthly thread a few times. I tried to respond to everyone who seemed real and then schedule at least a phone intro and screen. Some observations from the other side that might help applicants increase their response rate:

1. The majority of application emails I received obviously had not read the job description. They applied with a resume that didn’t have any relevant experience or, if they had experience, didn’t explain it in the resume. If you’re applying to a job, send a resume that shows why your experience is good for the job you’re applying for.

2. Check your email. I would say that most of the people I responded to either never followed up or waited weeks to respond. Of those who scheduled calls, many were no shows. This no-show rate was higher on HN than for my other job postings.

3. Make it easy for the hiring manager to believe you’re a real person and you are who you say you are. This will make some people angry, but when hiring remote you get a lot of scam applicants, overemployed people, and I even know one friend whose company accidentally hired two North Korean people pretending to live in the US. Do yourself a favor and make it easy to believe you’re real. Spend 30 minutes making a LinkedIn profile and updating it right before your job search (and then never check the site again if you prefer). Make sure your resume states the same location you tell the hiring manager. Use the same phone number everywhere. Make it easy to verify past employment even if you have to do a little extra work. There are so many scam applicants that you can easily get filtered out if something looks a little bit off.

4. Do not submit an AI resume and AI application letter! Hiring managers see these all day long and can recognize them. Do not fall prey to the social media wisdom that nobody reads your resume or that you need to use AI to write it because AI will read it. These AI written resumes are exactly what all those scam applicants use and it makes you hard to differentiate.

barrell•4h ago
Speaking from experience, I get hundreds of of applications per month. 90%+ of them are either templated or less than 20 words. 50%+ of them have no indication they even read the job post, applying for technologies or positions not included in the job posting, or containing no indication of who or what they’re applying for, let alone why they are interested or would be a good fit.

I write all my responses by hand, that’s just how I like to do things. If it is going to take me longer to write the rejection than the applicant spent on the application, I’m not going to do it. It would be unmaintainable to keep up with, and it’s hard to feel that someone deserves a few minutes of my time because they copy pasted an email address (if that).

I can’t speak for everyone’s practices, but genuine applications with effort put in are met with the same level of effort in the response. I’ve interviewed dozens of people solely on their level of effort put into the application (as opposed to the content of their resume). I’d rather spend an hour interviewing a bad fit that cares than responding to 20 people who couldn’t even name the company they applied to.

I think those struggling would find better luck with quality over quantity wrt applications. It takes shockingly little to stand out from the flood of applications you get on here. Including things like the name of the company, why you’re interested, and why you’d be a good fit are exceedingly rare (and imho the bare minimum for an application). If you can convey even a modicum of excitement or competence, it basically guarantees you at least a response, if not an interview.

Also, I’ve never responded to an AI generated application. That is not a solution, as it’s impossible to tell whether you’ve even seen the job ad or just signed up for some service. If you’re a non-native speaker, don’t worry about grammatical errors. If you’re really concerned and must use it, disclose your use of it if you want any hopes of a response

Just my two cents from the other side of the conversation.

andy99•4h ago
This is already in the post

Please only post if you are actively filling a position and are committed to responding to applicants.

Zed Industries | North America, South America, Europe REMOTE | https://zed.dev/

Zed is a company for developers, by developers. All 3 of our founders have spent years in the trenches writing software and still do it almost every single day. We know the only way to build the world's best code editor is by equipping every single member of the team to do the best work of their career.

We've raised $42M (https://zed.dev/blog/sequoia-backs-zed) to support our ultimate vision, a new way to collaborate on software, where conversations about code remain connected to the code itself, instead of being tied to aging snapshots or scattered across different tools. The first step was creating a high-quality editor to serve as the user interface. Now this new investment lets us expand to tackle the next phase of our plan. We're developing a new kind of operation-based version control that incrementally tracks the evolution of your code with edit-level granularity, and we're integrating it into Zed to make collaboration, both with agents and teammates, a first-class part of the coding experience.

Team: We are reasonable, fun people that work in person in NYC

Roles: See here https://yuzu.health/careers (we have Fullstack and Backend roles posted at the moment. We're particularly in need of front end leaning folks right now and would consider other spikes also e.g. a Quant type to work on Pricing and we're also open to making a TLM type hire; all roles provide a ton of ownership).

Spacelift | Remote (Europe) | Full-time | Senior Software Engineer | $80k-$110k+ (can go higher)

We're a VC-funded startup (recently raised $51M Series C) building an infrastructure orchestrator and collaborative management platform for Infrastructure-as-Code – from OpenTofu, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Kubernetes, to Ansible.

On the backend we're using 100% Go with AWS primitives. We're looking for backend developers who like doing DevOps'y stuff sometimes (because in a way it's the spirit of our company), or have experience with the cloud native ecosystem. Ideally you'd have experience working with an IaC tool, i.e. Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, or SaltStack.

Overall we have a deeply technical product, trying to build something customers love to use, and have a lot of happy and satisfied customers. We promise interesting work, the ability to open source parts of the project which don't give us a business advantage, as well as healthy working hours.

If that sounds like fun to you, please apply at https://careers.spacelift.io/jobs/3006934-software-engineer-...

You can find out more about the product we're building at https://spacelift.io and also see our engineering blog for a few technical blog posts of ours: https://spacelift.io/blog/engineering

Additionally, we're hiring for a new product we're building, Flows. Mostly the same requirements and tech stack, without the devops bits. You can see a demo of Flows and apply for it here: https://careers.spacelift.io/jobs/6438380-product-software-e...

Ionworks | Founding Systems Engineer | Remote (US) or Pittsburgh, PA | Full-time

Ionworks builds battery simulation and optimization software used by R&D teams designing next-generation batteries. We are looking for a founding backend / systems engineer to own big pieces of our backend and help us scale from a few early customers to broader industry use.

Duranta | Full-Time | Staff backend engineers | Location: Seattle, WA or NYC | On-site

Company: we're a small startup (pre Series A) building a business-in-a-box solution for landscaping companies, initially targeting the US. It's a huge market with more than 700000 companies in the US alone but with very little good software. We're looking for a very experienced backend engineer (senior/staff level) capable of taking ownership and leading the development of entire systems.

We keep our infrastructure as simple as possible, so the entire backend is in Golang with Postgres+S3 as the data storage layer. And a bit of Terraform for the infrastructure.

We're NOT a standard "AI startup" doing LLM wrappers, but we do have our own computer vision AI that we use to produce models from satellite imagery. So if you're interested in working on unusual AI pipelines, we have plenty of work there too.

Our frontend is a React.Native app, and we're working towards having full feature-parity inside a regular webapp.

Experience:

* Go backend experience

* A lot of experience with distributed systems

* Designing robust APIs (we're using ConnectRPC)

* Ideally experience with offline apps and database synchronization

* The usual: infrastructure-as-code, Docker, Github actions, OpenTelemetry, etc.

Salary: $170-$210k and equity

Goblins | https://goblinsapp.com | Founding Engineer #3 | Williamsburg, New York | ONSITE | $100-200k (+ generous equity)

At Goblins, we're building America's favorite teacher, starting with K-12 math. We're live in thousands of classrooms for in-class assignments, extra practice, and homework. Students work on a whiteboard while our models analyze their work in real time and nudge them with questions that make them think. Teachers get instant visibility into how the class is doing, who needs help, and what to assign next.

We just raised our seed round and are backed by the Gates Foundation, giving us the ability to build something transformative in education.

Here's what you might work on:

- Create shareable "aha moment" videos from real student sessions.

Turn anonymized whiteboard work and Goblin–student dialogues into short videos or interactive replays that highlight the value of Goblins. Automatically identify the best moments, strip out sensitive data, and produce artifacts that teachers, parents, and districts want to watch and share.

- Rewrite our diffusion transformer real-time avatar stack.

Our Goblin avatars are already in production. Improve audio–motion sync, temporal coherence, and expressiveness, while cutting latency and cost so they run smoothly at 100k+ student scale.

- Extend continuous diagnostics to high-stakes like the SAT and ACT.

We track mastery against state standards with our spin on IRT. Extend this to SAT/ACT-style exams: infer score distributions from behavior, validate on real data, and compute minimal targeted practice that reliably moves predicted scores.

- Design uncheatable problem formats.

Generative AI can solve most traditional math problems and show fake work. Build formats where copying is harder than thinking: dynamic graphs, constructive proofs, counterexample generation, debugging flawed solutions, multi-step conceptual checks. Make them auto-gradable, resistant to copy-paste, and stable at scale.

- Build real-time instructional agents.

Detect underlying student misconceptions from their work and have an agent "drop in" only when needed. It should generate short, visual, 3blue1brown-style explanations tailored to the specific misunderstanding, and create diagrams, animations, and interactive examples that adapt as the student responds.

The role is based in our Williamsburg, Brooklyn office in NYC (on-site only). You'll join our tight-knit founding engineering team of 3—myself (the CTO) and two founding engineers with collective experience from Stanford, Stripe, Amazon, and X1.

As our third founding engineer, you'll have full ownership of critical projects and ship production systems that impact thousands of students and teachers in real classrooms within your first few weeks.

If this sounds fun, and you want to help inspire 1 billion kids to love to learn, email alp@goblinsapp.com :)

> WFA - Everyone gets up to 20 ‘work from abroad’ days a year

Does this apply to remote employees as well - and how strictly is it enforced?

samdoesnothing•4h ago
> Please only post if you are actively filling a position and are committed to responding to applicants.
dang•4h ago
Please stop. The way you're posting is not helping - it just makes things worse.

We detached this comment from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46110145.

samdoesnothing•3h ago
If the mods aren't going to enforce the rules what other options do we have? Serious question. This ad has been posted in 11/12 threads this year. Perhaps there should be a cooldown on the same posting after 3 months?

Job applicants are under enough stress as it is, they shouldn't be fooled into wasting their time applying to ghost jobs.

jaredsilver•1h ago
Hi! I happened to see this post before it was detached.

For a bit of additional context: we hire for multiple roles and have actually hired multiple people through these threads :)

We review every application by hand and get back to every single applicant, usually within 72 hours, despite thousands of LLM-generated spam/fraud applications. It takes a tremendous amount of time and energy, but we do it because we know how much time and energy candidates invest in applying to our open roles.

If you previously applied and didn't hear back, please shoot me an email so I can look into it: jared.silver@brilliant.org

samdoesnothing•37m ago
Thanks for your response :) In my experience almost all companies claim to respond to applications or inquiries but I expect most seekers would say it's more like 1/10.

It may be worth mentioning that you're continuing to open new positions and hire in the next thread. That would be (imo) a positive signal for others and would dispel these types of concerns. Because like others have said, they remember the companies who post over and over again and tend to not bother with them, under the assumption that they just aren't filling the position (if they even exist).

dang•1h ago
How do you propose that we enforce it, even if we had the resources to do so? We can't tell which job ads are real and which ones aren't, just as we can't tell which posters in "Who Wants to Be Hired" are real and which one's aren't. There's a lot of fraud and heartache on both sides of this transaction right now. Sorting wheat from chaff is an unsolved problem. To work on that, we'd have to become specialists in it, which is not going to happen.

If you want, you could take a look at some of my past explanations about this as well - they're listed in this thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45094610. If you do that, and still have a question that isn't answered there, I'd be happy to take a crack at it.

samdoesnothing•41m ago
The solution has been mentioned in the threads you linked, and I haven't seen any argument against it - let users share their experiences and/or question job postings in the replies. Heck, the author responded to my comment and had mine not been detached, people could have read the exchange and come to their own conclusions. You're simply protecting the companies with this type of one sided moderation. The way to combat fraud isn't to prevent people from speaking out against it.

If you aren't capable of telling what postings are real/not real (and fair enough, it's a hard problem) what makes you think you can do the same for the replies?

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling like it's very one sided, and in the current market which heavily favours hirers over seekers it's just another thing going against the seekers. Who often have real concrete stressors like the threat of homelessness.

Either that or remove the rules that by your own words are unenforceable, so people aren't mislead into thinking this board is more curated than, say, indeed or LinkedIn.

blindriver•11m ago
dang, you are in the wrong here. Why can't people with negative experiences with a company reply back on a thread? It gives an opportunity for us to warn others on HN, and it also allows companies to respond back to share their side of any dispute.

Too many companies just post on Who is hiring and the only way we as potential applicants can protect ourselves with bad actors who want to collect our data is by crowdsourcing our experience. If a company is legitimate, they will welcome the opportunity to respond to feedback and maybe it will help them improve their blind spots.

SpruceID (YC W21) | REMOTE (US-Based Preferred) | Full-Time | spruceid.com

Spruce lets users control their data across the web. Instead of users logging into platforms, we believe platforms should request to access data vaults controlled by users.

The demand for trusted digital ID is accelerating as AI deepfakes begin to destroy most of the ways we use to verify identity today. How private or secure is it to hold your driver's license or passport up to a webcam to get a bank account? Was it ever private or secure? Stable diffusion can break so much of this already. Society will need trusted digital IDs and credentials. Our mission is to allow them to be controlled by individuals, with safeguards to prevent descents into surveillance states and checkpoint societies.

We are the main implementers of category-defining initiatives such as the digital ID program for the California DMV, and the verifiable digital credentials program in Utah. We are private sector participants in NIST's National Cyber Security of Excellence initiative for privacy-preserving digital ID.

We are hiring skilled engineers who care about making a real impact in improving public services, digital autonomy, and user privacy for the world. We work closely with public sector agencies, and have high regard for public servants. We have a strong engineering and customer-oriented culture, and are not simply a SaaS product or AI wrapper. Our roles are not for the faint of heart: you will be expected to work hard and learn a lot in this role.

Our engineers are ambitious to get outcomes for our customers and their constituents. On any given day, they may write great Rust/C#/TypeScript, deal with mainframe dumps, read policy documents, respond to technical RFIs/RFPs, manage on-prem environments, implement new NFC + Bluetooth protocols in Swift/Kotlin, create CI/CD processes that enforce W3C accessibility guidelines and i18n requirements, rewrite lost specs from disassembled binaries, figure out stablecoin payments, and design new protections for public key infrastructure. It is a team effort, and people with T-shirt shaped skills are able to collaborate and learn a ton from each other every day.

We are interested in candidates who want to be proud of the meaningful impact they make for society, even if it takes time to get right. This is not the right job for someone who wants to "join a cool new AI startup" that implodes or exits in under a year.

See our roles here: https://jobs.lever.co/sprucesystems/

Saildrone | Multiple Roles | Onsite/Hybrid (US Only) | SF Bay Area (Alameda) | Full-Time | https://www.saildrone.com/

Saildrone is the world's leading collector of ocean-related in situ data via uncrewed vehicle, above and below the sea surface. We work with navies across the world to deliver insights about waterways, contribute to safety of life at sea, and mitigate illegal fishing and trafficking. Additionally, we work with governments, civic agencies, foundations, universities, and private companies around the globe to derive better information about our oceans and seas - be it sailing drones into the eye of hurricanes to obtain new scientific storm data, mapping out the ocean floor, collecting new CO2 data in hard-to-reach areas, or counting biomass to establish fishing quotas.

Maybe you saw that we've repeatedly hucked drones into category 4 hurricanes[1]. Or maybe that we completed a transoceanic cable survey for Meta[2]. And maybe you saw that we just announced a large partnership with Lockheed Martin[3]. Or maybe you didn't see any of that, but you're still intrigued by the idea of autonomous, long endurance sailboats that help us better understand and secure our planet.

Whatever the case, we're hiring for a breadth of different positions across our organization. In software, we're hiring for folks in our Perception, Platform, Frontend, and Vehicle teams. Stacks vary from team to team, but we're looking primarily for folks with backgrounds in C++, Python, and/or JavaScript (Node, TypeScript, React). All software positions are hybrid roles based out of Alameda, just a quick ferry ride across the Bay from San Francisco.

In addition to software engineers, we're also hiring for a bunch of other positions across the company in production/manufacturing, technical operations, and more.

Hey HN, I’m the founder of Vect AI. We built the world’s first all-in-one autonomous command center for high-growth marketing. Most AI tools are just wrappers that generate text. We built a system that understands strategy. The Problem: Marketing is fragmented. You have one tool for copy, one for images, and spreadsheets for planning. It’s manual and disconnected. The Solution: Vect AI is an autonomous growth engine. You define a Goal (e.g., "Launch a B2B SaaS product"), and our AI Agents: Analyze real-time market signals and competitor angles. Strategize a multi-phase campaign (Tease, Launch, Sustain). Execute the assets: Social posts, emails, ad creative, and viral video scripts. Under the hood: We’re using a multi-agent architecture powered by Google's Gemini Pro models to handle complex reasoning chains. We also built a "Resonance Engine" that simulates audience psychology to audit your content before you publish. It’s free to try (no credit card required). I’d love your feedback on the agent orchestration. Link: https://vect.pro

I'm the hiring manager for this role. Please see the job description for details, but I'm looking for someone who is, or is able to become, proficient in backend development for a public nest.js API suite using TypeScript. BuildBetter | Senior Engineer (Backend, Full-stack) | Full-Time | Remote (US) | 170-200k base + equity | Visa Sponsorship not provided

BuildBetter is the product operations platform for customer-led teams. We've built an AI-first product that lets our customers, like Rappi, n8n, Posthog, and Brex automate the operations work that lets them provide their customers with world-class product experiences.

We're looking for two senior engineers to join the team; our headcount has remained small while growing revenue, and we're now bottlenecked by development speed in a way that will make you invaluable. You'll have real ownership over your code from product ideation to customer support, and we'll be making substantive product updates weekly. We're looking for team players who are as fun to work with as they are productive, and are willing to compensate these two rolls commensurately - our aim is to be in the 95th percentile of equity compensation, and we expect that in exchange we'll have value-aligned employees who will help us grow the business.

Joining us will mean solving hard problems at the frontier of AI adoption, including:

- maintaining performance at scale

- building and maintaining rich frontend user experiences that maintain the standards of usability and delight that our customers know us for.

- building agent and workflow systems that automate real work for customers

- playing around with the latest models to figure out new experiences that we can offer our customers as cutting-edge models get released monthly

- building automation that's grounded in supporting product teams rather than automating them - our bet is that this is the likelier outcome out of the current generation of AI systems

Stack: Postgres / TS (Nest + React) / Hasura / EKS / S3 / LLM APIs / Python

Benefits:

- unlimited PTO

- $100/mo education stipend

- flexible hours: we measure productivity in terms of outcomes, not time, so as long as you're able to stay aligned, productive, and in regular communication, we don't really care what hours you work

- health insurance

Please reach out to: nikhil (at) buildbetter (dot) app

Mulligan Post, Inc - On-Site near Millbrae BART/CalTrain Station in Burlingame - $60-120/hour Contract - Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechatronics / Industrial Automation.

Software hacker seeking hardware hacker to make custom robots for Magic: The Gathering automated storage and retrieval system to power an online e-commerce store (think CardKingdom competitor or eventual TCGPlayer competitor.) In terms of scale, the eventual target is >100k different _skus_, million items in inventory, tens of thousands picks per day. The industry is large; eBay bought TCGPlayer for $300M about 3 years ago.

I am looking for a mechanical/electrical/hardware generalist to complement my software expertise. Someone who knows how to integrate off the shelf parts into custom automation to solve problems. If fast iterations, direct connection with the project in use, autonomy and minimal bullshit overhead appeals to you then this could be a great fit. You are: someone who makes stuff and solves problems, is a clear communicator and fast study. You know how to challenge a requirement, source an off-the-shelf-part or design custom manufacturable part and when to do each. I don't really care where or when or what your degree is in if you have demonstrated driving things to completion and we vibe well enough.

We will use OnShape (license/seat will be provided) for collaboration and document management reasons. Much of what we need to build is integrating FUYU linear rails, Clearpath motors, pneumatics with some custom Send Cut Send / Xometry parts, 8020 frames, etc.

Pros: Small team / minimal overhead and wide scope. Clear guidance on what to build. Flexible-ish schedule (core hours 9-5 in office, flexibility for school breaks, etc.) Real problem with established market.

While I'm primarily looking for a contractor for now, I am open to the possibility of bringing the right person on full-time with equity if they are interested and invested in the space, but that is not a requirement and it probably makes sense to establish that after working together for a bit.

No recruiters or third parties, not able to sponsor at this time. Compensation dependent on experience.

Hiring process: resume/project review, vc chat < 1 hour, then paid 1-day work trial where we see if we fit.

If you're interested, send me an email - hiring@mulliganpost.com

What you'll actually work on: complex state machines for financial workflows, multi-tenant architectures with row-level security, custom database functions when the ORM isn't enough, and React frontends that handle real-time data without being a mess of useEffect hooks.

We're a small team where you'll own features end-to-end (database design to React components) and have opportunities to shape technical decisions. You'll get paid to write source code with a team that practices empathy and values work-life balance. If you've ever wished your job involved more elegant state machines and fewer marketing landing pages, let's talk: info@fusionbox.com.

MixRank (YC S11) | Software Engineers | 100% REMOTE (Global) | Full-Time MixRank processes petabytes of data every month from web crawling. We have hundreds of customers using our data products including Google, Amazon, Facebook, Intel, and Adobe, across industries including Finance, Recruiting, Sales, Marketing, and Security.

We’re a fully-remote company with a global footprint in over 20 countries. We're growing, profitable, employee-owned, no dependence on outside funding. Applicants from all geographies and backgrounds are welcome.

We are looking for passionate individuals for whom programming is not just a job but it’s something they love to do. We're obsessed with computers, programming, big data, databases, compilers, hardware, math, data science, and the internet. Does this sound like you? Please apply to join our team.

Our code base is very friendly to new contributors. You'll have a fully-functional development environment within hours (fully automated) and be pushing commits on your first day. Deployments to production happen multiple times per day and finish in less than 2 minutes. Effectively all of our codebase is written in Python, Rust, SQL, Javascript/TypeScript, and Nix. The core technologies you'll need familiarity with to be productive are Python, PostgreSQL, Linux, and Git.

We operate at a larger scale than typical startups. We operate two datacenters with high performance servers we've built that are capable of dealing with the volumes of data we process. We've implemented our own distributed file system. We do full-scale web crawls. We download and perform static analysis on the entire universe of Android APKs and iOS IPAs that are published. Unlike a typical startup where you'll spend half of your time in meetings, and the other half fixing bugs from Jira tickets— at MixRank you'll get to challenge yourself with difficult technical problems that will help you to grow as an individual.

We're hiring continuously for the positions below— they aren't singular positions that will close once filled. Our philosophy on hiring is that the candidate is more important than the position. For each new member of the team, we design a custom role and responsibilities that are specialized to their interests. Other companies will come up with a long list of specific requirements for a position with the expectation that you'll exactly replace someone from the team, or that you'll be the perfect tetris piece that satisfies the job requirements decided by a committee. MixRank is more pragmatic: we'll first get excited about having a unique individual on the team, then we'll figure out the best way to accommodate their specific talents.

-- Junior Software Engineer - Remote (Global), Full-Time

We're looking for remote junior engineers that have 0-3 years of professional experience in software, and 5+ years of curiosity exploring computers, programming, and technical hobby projects. This is an open-ended entry role with mentorship and diverse opportunities to work on all areas of our product: databases, distributed systems, infrastructure and tooling, data analysis, machine learning, frontend/backend web development, APIs, data mining, data modeling, and more. To stand out, please highlight what makes you unique: passion for computing, curiosity and side projects, work ethic, niche research, etc.

Ideally you've already graduated, but if you still have one or more years left of school, please feel free to apply anyway, and if you're the right fit for the team we'll figure out a way to accommodate your schedule.

Software Engineer - Remote (Global), Full-Time

We're hiring generalist software engineers to work on web applications, data mining, machine learning/data science, data transformation/ETL, data modeling, database scaling, infrastructure, devops, and more. We'll cater the role to whatever subset of these areas match your interests.

Beneficial experience includes PostgreSQL, Python, Rust, Linux, TypeScript, Nix, frontend/backend web development, and data mining.

I’m Kiran, Chief of Staff (CoS) at MixRank, a fully remote data startup building go-to-market intelligence. We’re US-incorporated but hire globally, and we’re bringing on new teammates to join a fast-moving team with real ownership and impact.

The coding interview question involves a collection of points (places) on a 2D grid. Places and Queries against those places are listed in sequential order in a commands.txt file in a colon-seperated format. A query is a circle with a center point and radius, along with a collection of 0-N expected places contained within it.

    Place - id, x, y
Query - id, x, y, radius, expected return values (comma-separated)
The task is to persist the places data in sequence and ensure queries return the set of expected places out of all places that have been seen so far. This is a basic geometry problem - if the euclidian distance (x^2 + y^2 = r^2) between any place and the circle's center is less than the radius, the place is contained in the circle. You should anticipate thinking of ways to optimize once the dataset gets very big if you successfully complete the specific task within the allotted time.

    # commmands.txt example

    place-1:34.7:94.5
    place-2:54.1:5.2
    query-1:15.2:17.1:5.0: # no results expected
    place-3:44.9:27.4
    query-2:35.0:94.0:2.0:place-1 # one result expected
    ...
    query-100:50.0:30.0:place-27,place-64 # multiple results expected

FUTO | Austin, TX | On-site / Remote | Full Time

FUTO is an organization dedicated to developing, both through in-house engineering and investment, technologies that frustrate centralization and industry consolidation. Our work consists of a combination of in-house engineering projects, targeted investments, generous grants, and multi-media public education efforts. Our principles are here: https://futo.org/about/what-is-futo/

Machine Learning Engineer - FUTO Keyboard

FUTO Keyboard is a privacy-first software keyboard for Android. Every prediction inference routine runs entirely on-device; no user data can ever leave the device. We support over 150 keyboard layouts and languages, and over 700 layout + language combinations (not all of them include dictionary or predictions)

Swipe typing is an important part of the mobile typing experience for many. Applying machine learning here poses a unique challenge due to the requirement of needing to support so many layouts and languages, as well as user-added personal dictionary words (or even layout customizations!), with limited data. We have previously collected and publicly released a US English QWERTY dataset: https://huggingface.co/datasets/futo-org/swipe.futo.org/

We are looking for a machine-learning researcher or engineer to work through these challenges and help us improve the swipe typing experience in FUTO Keyboard.

More info here: https://futo.org/jobs/machine-learning/

To apply, send your resume and cover letter to jobs at futo dot org with the subject of the position you're interested in.

Pinetree | Remote (North America, GMT-8–GMT-5) | Full-time | Salary + Equity

We’re hiring our third team member, a full-stack engineer, to work directly with the founders across the Pinetree codebase. If you were here today, you’d be shipping notifications, building out the creator studio with analytics and video management tooling, and improving our Farcaster mini app experience and onchain features like direct payments to creators.

Pinetree is building the best onchain platform for video creators: a crypto-native alternative to ad-driven video platforms that gives creators real ownership over distribution, monetization, and their content. We’re looking for someone highly autonomous who brings solutions to complex problems and wants meaningful product and company ownership.

You should have experience writing and deploying production software in TypeScript, ideally on a small (<50 person) team or other startup environment, and be comfortable working across the stack (React / React Native / Next.js, Node, Postgres). Crypto or social product experience is a plus.

Stack: TypeScript, React, React Native, Next.js, Node, Postgres

Comp: $120–200k base, 1–4% equity, health/dental/vision, unlimited PTO, remote-first, $2,500 home office budget.

Hiring: MouseMux | Remote (EU-friendly) | Part-time (8-16h/week) | Community + Outreach + Content

I’m the solo developer behind MouseMux (mousemux.com) - a Windows tool that enables multiple users / multiple cursors on one desktop (local + remote). I’m optimizing for someone autonomous who can run with outreach + content.

Comp: contract, €60–€120/hour depending on fit, 8–16h/week. Start with a small paid test project. Bonus possible for meaningful outcomes (pilots/case studies/revenue growth).

Precision | New York City (Optional Remote) | Founder seeking first technical teammate

I’m a solo founder in NYC building Precision — a platform that automates commercial real-estate underwriting and valuation. The proof-of-concept is fully working and has been demoed to institutional CRE professionals with strong feedback. I come from institutional CRE investment banking and have a solid technical foundation (built the entire PoC myself).

I’m looking for a strong engineer interested in joining early to help take the product from proof of concept → production: architecture, database design, scaling, multi-tenant security, and integrating AI for document abstraction.

Stack: React, Node/Express, MongoDB (MERN).

If this sounds interesting, reply or email me: kylemarsh49 [at] gmail [dot] com

Happy to share the demo and discuss what a technical partnership could look like.

Tandem Health | Software Engineers | On-site in Stockholm, Sweden | Full time

At Tandem Health we're building a clinician copilot to allow clinicians to focus on care rather than administration. We’re building, launching and iterating quickly, and are already rolling out across some of the largest care chains across Europe, including most of the NHS.

Our core product listens in to the patient-clinician encounter to generate medical records, allowing clinicians to save 5-10 minutes per patient. No longer do clinicians have to catch up on administration after hours. Some even tell us that their partners notice they're much more relaxed after starting to use our product, and we couldn't be happier :)

We’re expanding our Stockholm team with exceptional engineers! We use Python (backend), TypeScript/React (frontend) and C# (Windows app) and our infrastructure runs on Kubernetes in Azure.

Even if we don’t have a role out your specific skill set, we’d love to talk! Our tech team is small but growing and you’ll have an outsized impact on an important problem.

More info at https://www.tandemhealth.ai/recruitment

Feel free to reach out to john.moberg@tandemhealth.ai if you have any questions!

Krea | Distributed Systems & Backend Engineers | San Francisco, CA (onsite+remote)

I'm the cofounder & CTO of Krea (https://www.krea.ai). We are a startup in San Francisco building browser-based AI creative tools for professional designers and creatives. Small team (~27); millions of active users; and raised +$80M from top SV investment firms.

We're looking for talented engineers who want to tackle hard technical challenges with smart people while building a creative platform that big companies and startups will rely on. You will...

- Build distributed systems to process massive (billions of files, petabytes), amounts of image, video, and 3D data, solving scaling bottlenecks as you go.

- Learn ML engineering from world-class researchers on a small tight-knit team. You’ll contribute to foundation image, video, and world models from 0 → production, and see them used by millions.

- Play with huge Kubernetes GPU clusters; our main GPU cluster takes up an entire datacenter from our provider.

Tech stack: python, pytorch, k8s, a rotating cast of data tools (e.g. DuckDB, massive relational DBs, PyArrow, etc.)

You should apply if you are an excellent generalist engineer with strong backend experience and an intuition for systems design. Bonus points for experience with dist. systems, k8s, and existing ML or data experience (but not required!). Cool side projects are a green flag.

Habitat Inc - We pay $100-300/hr, remote.

To apply: https://code.habitat.inc/signup. Our company: https://habitat.inc, LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/habitat-ai-inc

If you can make a coding task that our AI cannot solve, you will get paid. It is that simple. Our best contributors make more than $200/hr, but the pay depends on how effectively you can find and make these tasks!

Our company sources coding data that reveals weaknesses in the current generation of models so that the next generation of models are trained to not make these mistakes.

We will be paying out more than hundreds of thousands of dollars in bounties over the next few months.

To apply: please sign up for an account on https://code.habitat.inc/signup - and mention that you came from HackerNews!

nrhrjrjrjtntbt•59m ago
Can you drop more info here on how it works. Before we go through sign up process.

Sounds quite easy to come up with such tasks. E.g. prove collatz conjecture. or write an O(log N) worst case sort. So there must be some boundaries.

The pay clearly isnt by hour so how is it worked out?

hackmaxim•52m ago
Yes, of course!

Tasks must be coding problems to complete in a set of open-source repositories. We have eight repositories now and will add more in the future. You can source tasks by identifying merged commits into these repos, and making the following: - A well-defined task description (what should the AI do?) - A golden solution (can be sourced by the implementation in the merge commit) - A test patch (can be sourced from the merge commit, this is a testing suite that verifies whether the AI's solution is correct).

If you can make a task that is hard enough for our AI, you will get paid a fixed amount. That's it!

Once you are approved onto the site, there will be a more detailed tech spec + payment info + a tutorial.

causal•34m ago
So this has to be a meaningful PR for the open source repository? You can't just invent arbitrary coding challenges?

This seems like trying to get free code contributions with a weird sort of gambling mechanic attached.

hackmaxim•28m ago
Nothing is free, of course, since we transparently pay per task (and as previously stated, the pay is very generous). There are certainly guidelines for what kinds of tasks you can submit to our platform, but beyond that, you can make any verifiable coding task in any of our qualifying open-source repositories.

We also definitely do not require you to write new code into the repo. As I said, you can adapt existing merged commits into coding tasks.

verdverm•45m ago
This sounds more like the AI version of mechanical Turk than a job that someone can be "hired" for.

If this is the case, this post doesn't belong here imo

This post certainly does not follow the comment guidelines or format

hackmaxim•31m ago
Yes, to be perfectly transparent, this is for a contract work position! However, many of our contributors appreciate the flexibility and transparent payment structure. If you are exclusively looking for full-time roles, this is not for you.

As part of our over-the-air updates “code push” product, we’ve built a custom compiler and runtime for the Dart language, primarily written by me (founder/CEO). Now that we have thousands of customers, I have many other responsibilities and need to bring on a fulltime engineer (you!) to take over primary responsibility for all of our C++ code (Dart & Flutter forks, custom runtime, compiler, etc.) and evolve it further than I could alone. Together, you and I will add obfuscation, improve our interpreter, possibly re-write method dispatch, etc. You don’t need to be a compiler/runtime expert. You do need to be capable of working on large open source projects, be comfortable with C++, want to work at a startup, work well independently (we’re remote) and want to learn and work on lots of different areas of code.

If you’ve contributed at least a little to WebKit, Godot, Firefox, or any other large open source project, are compiler/runtime curious, and want to work at a growing startup, you will likely find this role extremely rewarding.

We’re a small, senior team, making something people want. Tech: GCP, Cloudflare, React, Dart, C++, Rust. Shorebird operates almost entirely in the public over Discord. https://discord.gg/shorebird

Source (https://source.network)| USA/Canada: REMOTE | Full-Time | https://careers.source.network

Our mission is to make it normal, not heroic, for edge AI, mobile apps, and critical software to run close to where data is born: on devices, in vehicles, in field hardware, not just in a distant GPU farm. We’re building the data and trust layer that lets developers ship systems that still behave correctly when links are flaky, latency is awful, and the cloud is optional instead of mandatory—instead of the usual “SQLite everywhere + ad-hoc sync” duct tape.

We’re growing fast and are looking to fill the following positions:

-Chief of Staff - https://source.network/careers/chief-of-staff

-Lead Edge AI Engineer - https://source.network/careers/lead-edge-ai-engineer

-Head of Developer Relations - https://source.network/careers/head-of-developer-relations-r...
