I usually detest most Spiked articles, but this is an excerpt from a book, and the author seemed reasonably level headed in a recent Financial Times half hour mini documentary about nuclear linked here:

All this history is interesting but doesn't really reflect the more recent radical price plunge of solar, wind and batteries that have made new build nuclear basically irrelevant.
