The subtext being that Apple is working with Anthropic and not OpenAI, who they previously partnered with for Apple Intelligence handoff for longer queries.

Who exactly is going to "vibe code" in Xcode? Likely only for developers on Apple platforms but that's really it.

This isn't going to be anywhere near the popularity that Cursor, Windsurf and Replit have on 'vibe-coding' (which is a scam anyway).

If this is not outside of Apple platforms and is also not on the web, its dead on arrival and Anthropic still benefits even if it fails.

The term "vibe-coding" is a pretty silly take on this possible partnership.

In my experience, Anthropic's biggest problem is their infrastructure and capacity. Anthropic could help Apple catch up where it appears far behind in AI, and Apple silicon might have the potential to keep Anthropic's cost structure from lagging behind competitors like Google, or OpenAI that seems to have negotiated excellent deals.
