> Firefox’s underlying Gecko browser engine is “the only browser engine that is held not by Big Tech but by a nonprofit,”
If Firefox is doomed without Google money, then isn't it effectively held by Google? At arm's length, sure, but as Mozilla is currently demonstrating, Google could demand pretty much anything they want regarding Firefox and there's nothing Mozilla could do about it.

Once again wishing Mozilla just did the one thing it can do better than anyone else: be the reference web browser.
I don't need a VPN, or AI tools, or an email provider. I can get all of those from anyone.
There's still no way to directly donate to Firefox development.

When it finally dies, please inscribe WONTFIX as its epitaph. If the FF devs spent less time huffing their own farts they'd have more time and effort available to actually repro bugs.

What about Firefox forks? Waterfox, LibreWolf, Pale Moon, Zen, etc? And isn't Gecko FOSS? https://wiki.mozilla.org/MPL_Upgrade
