This has been just now going viral on Bluesky, while the post is from a while back. The title is summarized to fit the HN character limit.

This is censoring and language and tone policing. I thought we in the USA were broadly against this.

They are free to say these words, but there is no right to taxpayer funds for saying them
bediger4000•9mo ago
Most certainly, I agree with you. I'm just surprised that the folks who insisted on the merits of absolute free speech, and that "big tech" was biased against them are using the levers of state power to do exactly what they accused others of. You'd think the investigators of "The Twitter Files" like Matt Taibbi, would be all over this. Nary a peep. I guess I'm misunderstanding.

Weaponized hypocrisy in politics is hardly new, this is just another example of it. The right wing has always benefited from a certain degree of shamelessness, as Trump epitomizes. By the same token the left benefits from an unearned certainty that good intentions are bound to lead to good results.

And the rest of us are just clutching our heads and moaning in pain at this point.

It's not about justice. When America emboldens Israel's targeted killing of aid workers and journalists, we sell more weapons. When we hold them accountable, we slow down the trade.

Conflating BDS movements with "antisemitism" is more of a fiscal policy than a crisis of consciousness. I'd wager that the opposition to BDS is not a popular policy and instead the brainchild of insecure Lockheed Martin executives.
