But maybe I'm being too hard on NYT - I'm sure they wrote plenty of "stark contrast" articles back when other refugees were being admitted, and zero Afrikaners were.

Wow, what's going on in South Africa that there are refugees? War, famine, plague, natural disasters?

Admitting white Afrikaner refugees while simultanenously cancelling admission of other refugees who already were told when they could enter the US is legally dubious [1].

Considering that the DHS is scanning prospective immigrants' social media to use antisemitism as grounds for denying admission [1], it's strange that the DHS would play dumb about Charl Kleinhaus's history of antisemitic social media posts [2]. The DHS could both acknowledge the policy contradiction and explain why Kleinhaus fits the refugee policy. (Let me be clear. The DHS is violating the First Amendment rights of immigration seekers with its policy of using social media posts to deny admission.)
