Ask HN: Zer0 Browser – A Fast, Private Browser with Zero Bloat?

2•gokulnair2001•5h ago
Hi HN,

I’m building something I’ve always wanted but could never quite find—a browser that just gets out of your way. It’s called Zer0 Browser.

The idea is simple: - No bloat - No tracking - Just the web, fast and clean

Most browsers today feel more like operating systems. They come bundled with shopping deals, crypto wallets, aggressive search suggestions, and background data collection. Zer0 is my pushback—a browser that respects your time, your attention, and your privacy.

# What Zer0 stands for:

* Speed – Instant launch, snappy performance, low memory usage

* Simplicity – Minimal UI, no tabs by default (think iA Writer but for the web), focused reading experience

* Privacy – No telemetry, no trackers, no creepy background services

# What I'm exploring: Optional Local LLM Integration – Imagine summarizing a long article or querying a page using natural language—all on-device, with no data ever leaving your machine.

If this sounds like your kind of browser, I’d love for you to check out the alpha: https://www.zerobrowser.co/

What I’d love your thoughts on: Would you use a browser like this?

What are your deal-breakers or must-haves?

What frustrates you most about current browsers?

Any feedback, ideas, or warnings from the trenches are super appreciated:)

Thanks!

What engine are you using? Forking any existing project?
