Ask HN: Is it new for AI to prompt you, and also fill its replies with emoji's?

The "prompting me" part has always been a bit annoying. If I wanted a list of ideas on how to debug my application, I'd do it myself. The idea of the wagie bot telling me what to do and me going to do all the grind-y work is just disgusting. You're the bot. You exist for my convenience. You do the grunt work not me. This isn't something I've been able to easily prompt around.

The emojislop is pretty new. It's less bad on the APIs than on chat interfaces but by no means gone. Prompting can bring it down but it comes back in long chats.

I have noticed!! I don’t mind the emoji’s too much. But I do find it really disconcerting. But the AI prompting me actually really causes me an inner rage. The kind of rage I’ve sometimes felt towards robot answer machines when calling banks etc when you really just want to talk to a human. I get the same robot rage!!
