Fun thought. Pope Leo XIV is the latest in a long line of popes whose names make reference to an old-world big cat, the Lion (Panthera leo). Given he hails from from the Americas, had he payed homage to a different, local big cat (Smilodon populator), we would probably have the first alliterative pope title: Pope Populator I.
