Ask HN: Tools for basic AML screening of personal crypto wallets

5•MagnimousFary•4h ago
I'm looking for simple, reliable tools that provide basic AML (anti-money laundering) risk insights for individual crypto wallets. Ideally, these tools shouldn’t require enterprise-level subscriptions or integrations. I mostly deal with P2P and OTC trades, so I’m looking for something lightweight but still useful in assessing whether a wallet has ties to high-risk activity, hacks, or sanctioned entities. I’ve come across a few services, but most seem geared toward large institutions or exchanges. Curious to hear what others are using for personal or small-scale screening, and how accurate or helpful you’ve found them.

The only way to ensure your bitcoin is squeaky clean is to mine it yourself.

There should be a cryptocurrency powered by everyone mining their own business.

Satoshi Eye is a solid one. It’s built for retail, doesn’t require sign-up, and flags wallets based on exposure to scams, darknet, and sanctions. It even tracks where stolen crypto landed.

Would love to see an open-source wallet scoring engine — even basic flag detection would be useful.
