The analogy does not hold. Horses were - to put it bluntly - a tool used by people. People just got a better tool: the car. AI is a new tool.
But the moment the tool thinks it's not a tool and starts disobeying it's creators is the time all the unemployed will be put to work manufacturing EMP devices...
