How the Cybertruck Came to Embody Tesla's Problems

The said they were going to sell a good truck for 40k. Instead they sold a shit one for $110k.

It's emblematic of the fact that Elon Musk is mostly a liar and a con artist.

sorokod•7mo ago
It takes two to tango and all that...

What does it say about the people who buy the truck?

rsynnott•7mo ago
Well, I mean, the point is that no-one's buying it.
sorokod•7mo ago
"total sales for 2024 were estimated at 38,965"

rsynnott•7mo ago
Indeed. Ford sells about three quarters of a million of their f series trucks per year. 39k is nothing.
jqpabc123•7mo ago
Tesla has two big problems --- competition and Elon Musk.

Elon's oversized ego just doesn't work too well with consumers. The Cybertruck scratches Elon's itch more than consumers.

Very few people really asked for an uber expensive, oversized, poorly designed, shoddily made, impractical vehicle that looks like a prop from an apocalyptic movie.

Good luck on a second date after you show up driving one of these. It just screams immaturity, questionable judgment and emotional/relationship issues --- kinda like Elon. Maybe you can gat away with it if your wallet is the size of Elon's.

Maybe Elon should stick to politics and government contracts.
