"On March 24, 2025, it was reported that 23andMe had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and Wojcicki had resigned as CEO effective immediately but would remain on the company’s board.[22] On June 13, 2025, Wojcicki regained control of 23andMe through a $305 million deal, buying back nearly all of the company's assets."
There is some concern that the person who was CEO through the bankruptcy is now ready to reacquire it. What will change?

23andMe failed to move up in the world by offering full genome SNP sequencing like its competitors do. Instead, they lost genetic data of millions of users which was sold online. Now its ex-CEO has a major conflict of interest in acquiring the firm that the ex-CEO was responsible for bringing down. That's three strikes against it.
