We're going to find out that the representative democracy was always dependent on centralised control or supervision of narrative production, rather than the 'free exchange of ideas'.

Social media - more specifically, the social media outside of centralised control or supervision - creates narrative dissonance which is highly unsettling for us all, and we seek to resolve it by polarising into tribes whose purpose is to win the competition for narrative dominance. The most effective way of doing this is not presenting rational arguments, but by drowning out dissenting narratives by overwhelming them with your own. These are techniques deployed by both left and right of the traditional political / cultural spectrum, as should be self evident to anyone who has been awoke in the past decade.

How this manifests politically? The other side never accepting the result, and doing everything you can to win back power again, including sacrificing the foundational principle of democracy - to accept the will of the people
