Seriously. This isn't even a hard one. Go ahead, ban TikTok. The kidz will all switch to something else, and people will have forgotten about it by next November. It's not even really his thing; this was a law passed by Congress and signed by Biden.
The ban isn't popular, but it's not un-popular, either. It's not like the tariffs, which will really be unpopular if they ever actually hit.
If he wants to avoid the TACO label, just go ahead and ban TikTok, then tell everybody how decisive he was. Kicking this can down the road again is just sending the signal that nobody has to take his threats seriously.
