Show HN: No sign up catchy temporary url shorterner

https://typit.in
1•afrieirham•7mo ago
hi all, i made this url shortener but it's temporary and easy to type.

use case for this is when you need to share links (or files/notes) from one device to another but there's no direct connection between them or it's too slow to connect.

easy example use case. 1. you in class and you need google slides to for a presentation. 2. you need to use the teacher's computer.

now you can either: 1. use incognito mode and sign in to your google account and share the slide. 2. email/text/whatsapp the link to your teacher if they have either of those logged in on the computer, so you can access it from there. 3. use typical url shortener but it might be hard to type/remember and it's usually permanent until you deleted it (also usually requires sign up for beautiful url).

(i actually have experience this before in my class).

with this tool, you just paste your link and you'll get easy to type url and it's temporary by default.

it started as url sharing tool but now it also supports file upload and notes sharing.

i just want to share this because i think it's cool, you can test it out but please dont spam especially the file upload.

another thing i'm thinking of adding is users can use their own r2 cloudflare storage for extra privacy, might be a pro feature but it kinda defeats the purpose of "no sign up required" thing.

feedback/comments are welcomed.

p/s: it's open-source too https://github.com/afrieirham/typit.in
