The moment I finally summoned up the courage to start my long-planned solo travel, dragging my suitcase out of the station, my heart was both excited and apprehensive. Strange city, strange faces, everything is full of unknown, this feeling is both exciting and disturbing. After dinner, I wandered aimlessly through the streets. Passing by a used bookstore, I was attracted by a yellowed book of poems in the window. Pushing open the door, the store was filled with the faint smell of books and wooden furniture. The shopkeeper, an older man wearing glasses, was sitting on a wicker chair in the corner reading a book. I took my time picking between the shelves, and the uncle looked up at me from time to time, occasionally whispering “that book is interesting”. Finally I chose a collection of essays by a niche author and sat down by the window to read quietly. The sunlight poured through the glass on the pages, and the only sound around me was the rustle of turning the pages, a moment of extraordinary inner peace. In the evening, I walked to the riverside of the city. The setting sun colored the sky orange-red and reflected on the river, sparkling. There were quite a few people walking along the river and a few children flying kites. I found a bench and sat down, looking at the beautiful scenery in front of me, and my thoughts drifted far away. I took out my cell phone to share this moment with my friends, but then put it down, thinking that this kind of moment, alone to enjoy it also has a special flavor. As night falls, the lights of the city gradually come on. I followed the crowd into the night market, a variety of aromas. The sound of kebabs, the yells of stall owners, and the laughter of people were intertwined, making it a lively place. I walked between the stalls and bought a grilled cold noodle and a glass of freshly squeezed juice, eating as I walked. Passing by a street singer's performance venue, I stopped to listen to a few songs, clapped and cheered along with the crowd, and felt the energy of the city at night. By the time I got back to the B&B, I was already a bit tired, but my heart was satisfied. On this day, I didn't intentionally rush to the sightseeing spots, but just explored the city casually, met a lot of warm people, tasted delicious food, and saw beautiful scenery. It turns out that the daily routine of traveling alone can also be full of surprises and touches, and these ordinary yet special moments will become my precious memories.
