The company is expanding from a mere vector database into a next-gen data management platform for AI. They are making their bet based on the current data trends, whereby AI is generating, but also requires, vast amounts of multimodal data. Supported by the existing format, Lance, and the LanceDB search engine - the company is moving into automation of training, feature engineering and exploratory data analysis.
