I was a huge fan of the game. The story, the characters, the combat system; it had a unique feel that really captured the spirit of SAO. Since the shutdown, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we might preserve or even revive it in some way.
I'm wondering if it’s technically possible to recreate the game using a private server setup, similar to what exists for some Supercell games like Null’s Royale or Null’s Brawl. I know SAOUB didn’t have an offline mode, so this wouldn’t be easy. But with enough community interest and technical skill, maybe we could start small (even if it’s just restoring basic gameplay elements or letting people replay the story content).
So I’m reaching out to see if there’s anyone out there with experience in reverse engineering mobile games, working with Android APKs, server emulation, or anything related. Even if you’re not technical but loved the game and want to help coordinate or support the project in other ways, that would also be great. I’m not claiming to have all the answers, but I’m motivated to at least try.
