I could quibble with the details of this article, but I really like the overall gist of it, that software product dev is a set of multiple levers, with the tech being just one of them.

That matches what I've always tried to teach junior devs - that the tech is not the primary component of product development. That while it seems like the largest and most obvious one to the coders, it is invisible to the customers. But my phrasing makes junior devs defensive. This article lays it out in a way that seems less challenging to the identity of coders.

I learned that you can generate great value for the business, even though it only takes less than 10% of your actual effort. Nobody cares about the next cool framework you used or the coding style.
