Show HN: FireClass – Wrap Any Educational Website with Real-Time Classroom Tools

https://meir.world/fireClass-demo/
4•mlivneh•7mo ago
Hi HN,

I’m a teacher and developer who wanted to bridge the gap between great web-based learning content and real classroom use. I built fireClass — a simple wrapper that lets you take any web-based educational tool (games, simulations, quizzes) and instantly run it in a live classroom setting with session management, real-time student data, and AI-powered feedback.

No vendor lock-in, no special integration — just add one line to a config file, and any site becomes “classroom-ready.” It works seamlessly with existing slide decks (PowerPoint, Google Slides) and requires no student accounts or passwords — just a name and a room code.

I’d love feedback, questions, or ideas — especially from teachers, edtech builders, or anyone who’s struggled to connect good content with real-time classroom workflows.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks everyone for checking this out!

One thing I’m planning next is a richer end-of-lesson reporting system for teachers. Right now, fireClass does real-time snapshot analysis and open-ended polling during the lesson — but I want to add a final, detailed synthesis report that combines all student responses (open-ended, multiple choice, yes/no) to help teachers plan the next lesson.

The goal is to show learning progress, common misunderstandings, and even “Aha!” moments that the AI detects during live interaction.

If you have ideas for what kind of insights teachers would find most helpful in a post-lesson report, I’d love to hear them!

(Creator here) - Just wanted to add some context on the motivation.

I teach an after-school program for gifted kids and started building educational games to keep them engaged. While building them, I kept hitting the same architectural problem: how do you build a communication and scaffolding layer on top of a self-contained web app without modifying the app itself?

I needed a way to poll students, send them private messages, and get feedback while they were in the middle of a game. Building this functionality into each game individually felt repetitive and inefficient.

I realized the solution wasn't to build better games, but to build a generic "classroom wrapper" that could be applied to any game or web content. That's what fireClass is – a reusable infrastructure to solve that recurring problem.

What good timing to have written such inspiring and innovative content and process for us teachers. Thank you.

"Thank you so much for the kind words! It truly means a lot, especially coming from a fellow teacher.

That was exactly the goal – to build something that feels both innovative and genuinely useful for our daily challenges. I'm glad it resonated with you.

If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the biggest challenges you face when trying to use web content in your classroom?"
