Here's the tax policies:

"Millionaire Tax": A proposed flat 2% income tax increase on New Yorkers earning over $1 million annually. This is estimated to generate $4 billion in incremental revenue. Mamdani's campaign states this would fund programs such as universal free early childcare, free bus rides, and affordable housing initiatives. [1]

Corporate Tax Rate Increase: An increase of the top corporate tax rate to 11.5%, up from the current 7.25%. Mamdani's campaign projects this would generate an additional $5 billion annually [1]

Other proposals:

Freezing monthly rent payments governed by a city board.

Stepping up local enforcement of consumer protection laws and banning non-compete clauses.

Implementing common-sense procurement reform, ending senseless no-bid contracts, hiring more tax auditors, and cracking down on fine collection from corrupt landlords to raise an additional $1 billion [2]

In the end, most of these things should be good for business and livability in NYC. He's explicitly not doing what a lot of Democrats do which is promise to raise taxes on the rich but then only raise them on salaried high-income earners.
