I agree AI is big and we see adoption and advancement pace like never before. But quoting CEO’s who are selling it does not give credibility to the growth.
Take Zuck for example from your article, he also wasted billions on AR/VR, and where is it now?
Probably a different angle can show more credible points, such as the growth of AI search (perplexity, ChatGPT), the number of downloads of AI apps (ChatGPT has 1 million downloads per day on iOS alone).

Those are all lagging indicators. The leading indicator I am seeing are job apps that in tech mostly all relate to AI in some way these days. Its like 20:1 or more, seemingly.
