Show HN: Tinycoder is a tiny provider-agnostic alt. to Codex/Code/Gemini CLI

https://github.com/koenvaneijk/tinycoder
2•koenvaneijk•2h ago
I was frustrated with some of the existing tooling and I made this after using Aider, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Gemini CLI extensively. I wanted something that could work with local models, or any provider which would have SOTA models. I have been using tinycoder for all my projects (including making changes to tinycoder itself) for the past 2 months and I have no desire of switching. It works best for Python projects, but I've used it for JS/Node projects too with great success. If you're on Android, you can easily install this in Termux too (which basically allows you to code on your phone quite easily).

I am really eager to hear HN's critical feedback.

I do imagine a future where software engineers will build the IDEs and tools themselves!

If you're interested in working together or if you have suggestions to improve tinycoder, give me a shout at vaneijk.koen@gmail.com.
