Lately I've just been posting who is funding studies posted on HN. Usually taxpayers via government foundations/institutes.
A lot of people on HN seem unaware of how innovative research is paid for and are even cheering the cuts in the US. China certainly isn't cutting research.

Interesting to see fibrosis and cirrhosis of the liver as one of the highest correlations. As noted, sleep disruption can alter some liver functions. However I wonder how much of this is a proxy for frequent alcohol consumption, which disrupts sleep.

Being overweight can cause sleep apnea and fatty liver disease, so there may be some correlation due to that.
