The idea of God is a useful framework for Idealism, but the mistake humanity keeps making is letting its stories and tools get larger than itself. We are the creators, and that should be it.

If AI will come to possess consciousness, then it will be human-like, more or less, which makes it ideal for transhumanism, but not for becoming a god. All matter degrades and turns to dust in one way or another, and whatever super AI is embodied in will be no different. Degrading to dust is not the stuff of gods.
