Well, that sucks; I thought the Journal's "share" feature would work here. Thanks for finding the syndicated version! Unfortunately I can't update the URL, but perhaps a mod will make the change.

Isn't the answer to this obvious? They lost the war, they were the bad guys. The older generation who fought WWII and the Cold War is all but gone, so now these people want to rewrite history, with "alternative facts".
jauntywundrkind•6mo ago
Finding the absolutely worst possible people (the one trying to say Hitler wasn't such a bad guy, it's Churchill's fault) & amplifying their voices is far too effective.

Mother Jones had a Darryl Cooper hit-piece that provides the missing context on where this manufactured debate is coming from. Focusing on Churchill here somewhat hides the truth: the core thread, the reason for this is to make a Nazi apologia. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2025/07/martyr-made-dar...

I think we need a better word for the far right, because the word has lost it’s meaning, because leftist politicans like to label everyone who disagrees with them far right and I have no idea what it means anymore.
asdffdasy•6mo ago
or you are just in denial about voting for the actual far right?
tim333•6mo ago
I think the article missed maybe the biggest reason which is Russia / Putin are funding them or friends of them to sympathise with misunderstood dictators just wanting to peacefully roll a few tanks across Europe and kill a few thousand (or million) locals.
jleyank•5mo ago
They’ve written these books already. Look for ss-gb or fatherland to see what British and us neutrality might have led to.
