Thank you for posting this.

“First things first, obviously AGI is going to solve all these problems for us within 10 years. So do you think your work will matter beyond then?” (Paraphrasing)

What universe is this guy living in where this is an obvious fact? I’m deep in the tech filter bubble, and even among my peers this is certainly not treated as a given.

To be fair, that question is often asked half tongue in cheek. It's a useful way to start off a discussion or understand if the other person has thought about it and takes it seriously or thinks nothing of it at all

This is dangerous talk, it's a huge writeup, and the word choice is used once, in a discussion about food. People will (mostly) give up meat only if the alternatives are yummyier, and have decided health benifits, which aint happening, so what will happen is that the guy in the article will play the roll of political foil as it becoms clear that he isn't suggesting that people could change there dietary practice, he's going after the whole agricultural practice for billions of people, to legislativly end the consumption of animal protien, and to do it he want people to donate money to him, instead of for things like health and education for children, something something "occupy the philanthropy space", some of the most deranged shit I have ever read.
