Is McKinsey losing its crown to AI? [video]

My sincere hope is that AI bankrupts most, if not all, consultancies. Consultancies are adult day care for Ivy grads who are unemployable everywhere else. The best they do next is go on to get MBAs, or other types of Masters. Truly, however, this class of workers provides no other benefit than bean counting in one way or another, which destroys engineering firms. My guess is a lot of them will move on to product management at FAANGs if AI does render consultancies practically defunct.

McKinsey exists for executives to outsource blame as they make risky bets. The more I see of this industry, the less I respect it. But at its core, I don’t think AI solves the problem businesses want to solve. A CEO saying a study by McKinsey led to actions that ended in disaster, sounds a lot better than the AI told them to do it.

Maybe people are just finally seeing through the BS and companies don’t want to be tied to another reputation damaging mishap by McKinsey.
