Purpose - Fun lightweight counter that shows how much money you've earned in real time. Might be motivational to keep in the background while you work away.

Background - ~3 day project for non-technical person wanting to explore using AI. Stack is next.js/typescript/css, uses vercel & github to deploy. Last time seriously coding was a decade ago. Cursor/AI-assistance was a joy to build with and probably 10x'd my ability to deliver. Was my first time using next/java/typescript. Past exp was with django+python

Some features/limitations

  - Added the ability to handle GET parameters to share links with friends
  - Could count anything really - added tuition to motivate students, as well as the national debt
  - Added hours/week to more accurately handle non-standard work weeks when picking a start-time in the past
  - Assumes standard 5-day work week

Next steps

  - Monetize/advertise?
  - Start on the next project!
