Pretty much yeah. For example OCI (Oracle Cloud) has a pretty small set of OS choices, with Debian not included, and on the free tier, I don't believe you can upload your own OS images anymore. I used a similar script for an OCI VM (https://github.com/bohanyang/debi), but this one obviously supports more OSes (haven't tried it yet but planning to try the reinstall to netboot.xyz option to get coreos installed on another OCI VM).
