not a good look.

the best video experience is the one a creator chooses to provide to viewers.

youtube/google has a big trust issue, and now you have the specter of watermaking or fingerprinting accusation to fall on your head in the future.

when you manipulate video like this you are destroying the original source, unless you archive originals for a time to allow the owner and creator of the video to revert back to the original post, thats advisable because if trhe video happens to contain evidence of a crime, guess who will be interfering with evidence of a crime unless originals are kept in custody.

also dont fix something not broken, thats not innovation, and dont push "help" that is not being asked for, it generates negative googletaxic response

So, when do they start inserting ads?

Imagine splicing in an ad of the content creator shilling for Pepsi into a video.

That leads to customized "in media" ads, and ads that are "targeted" at users by having their favorite Youtubers be unwitting mouthpieces for advertisers.

I look forward to the eventual deepfake of a person of color spouting ad copy for right-wing fascists.
