> Berghain is renowned for its exclusivity and its commitment to maintaining an authentic atmosphere. The club’s door policy is legendary, with bouncers turning away celebrities and influencers alike if they don’t fit the desired vibe. Musk’s rejection serves as a reminder that in Berlin’s club scene, authenticity trumps fame and fortune.

> it’s a powerful reminder that in Berlin, authenticity and inclusivity reign supreme.

So it's about exclusivity and inclusivity? About fitting the desired vibe and authenticity?

It can't be both and I imagine it's more about the former than the latter. Because inclusivity is about including, and authenticity is about not trying to fit in, and if he was excluded for not fitting in, then that doesn't sound like inclusivity or authenticity.

> authenticity is about not trying to fit in, and if he was excluded for not fitting in

You are comparing two things that aren't always equal as if they are. For example, if someone tries not to fit in, thus resulting in not fitting in, they would also not be considered authentic.

Authenticity is graded on why you are trying to be, not on the result you achieve. If you see authenticity in the way you describe you will be lead astray in finding it in people

Fair point. Intentionally trying to stand out or forcing oneself to stand out when the desire is to fit in can be inauthentic as well.

I'm amazed you didn't go all the way "diversity of thought," or is that worn out by now? It's hard to imagine a more toxic bomb to throw into a club scene. Well, OK I suppose I can imagine Diddy.

I'm not saying they should have let them in, that's their own choice and I respect the desire to control the dynamics of a place. I just think I feel annoyed when people seem to describe that as inclusivity.
