Show HN: Linkfy – On-Device URL Cleaner for iOS

2•muhammetarda•6h ago
I built Linkfy, an iOS app that strips tracking junk (utm_*, fbclid, etc.) from URLs.

Runs entirely on-device, no server

Works via share sheet or inside the app

Keeps essential parts of the link intact

I made it because I was tired of sharing messy, tracking-filled links.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ai-link-cleaner-linkfy/id67497...

Code (Swift package): https://github.com/zeynep-yildiz/Linkify

Happy to hear feedback and edge cases!

From the screenshots, it looks like it doesn't automatically clean URLs (eg if I share to Mail, say, the URL will be unmodified) but it has to go through Linkfy, then from there via a second share?

The pricing is insane. $100 for the app purchase. Something like this should be $1.99 or $5 for a license -- useful, but absolutely not a hundred bucks, which is the price for major software. Pixelmator Pro, an incredibly powerful image suite, is _half_ that price.

As a side note, I read this as "linkify", meaning, "to make a link" not "to clean a link". Maybe "linkwash" or something?

muhammetarda•3h ago
You’re right — iOS doesn’t allow full background auto-cleaning, but within the app links are cleaned automatically as soon as you paste them, and in the share extension the link is also cleaned instantly when you pick Linkfy (no extra button press). On pricing, fair point — $100 lifetime is probably too high, and I’ll rethink it based on feedback like yours. My goal was just to keep it ad-free and fully on-device, but I don’t want the price to scare people away. Thanks for the honest input

Thanks, I appreciate that, I hope it wasn't too honest ;) I do appreciate on-device (something to highlight in the AI part of your site?) and ad-free.
