Starting a war as a distraction. Have we seen this done before?
myko•5mo ago
It is interesting to me folks across the spectrum in the US are now opposed to the Iraq war but a large segment of America still hates The Chicks for rightly calling it out at the time.
hshdhdhj4444•5mo ago
People hate those who call out something wrong before the rest of the world recognizes it far more than they usually hate the wrong itself.
ungreased0675•5mo ago
What do you think it’s a distraction from?
bediger4000•5mo ago
1. Epstein information, whether in DoJ possession, or the newly united Epstein victims.

2. Trump's age and health. He's pretty clearly not as energetic as he was first term, and last week's hiding was troublesome.

1oooqooq•5mo ago
let's not forget actually starting the war already without involvement of the houses. or did we forget the white house alone already pressed the start button?
foogazi•5mo ago
Domestic issues and broken promises:

- ending the war

- releasing the list

- lowering the prices

- being great again

- greatest economy ever

I guess this is what we get when Congress gave their responsibility to the Executive Branch little by little over the past few decades. All Congress people want to do now is collect contributions. Contributions in the US would be called bribes in other "first" world countries.

Recently the US Supreme Court saw what Congress is doing and decided to join the fun.

Unless things change soon, we will end up with a dictator.

F-35s are probable the wrong tool. A-10s, send more A-10s.
coolspot•5mo ago
Venezuela just flew their fully armed F-16s over a US destroyer. F-35 is a right tool to detect/eliminate those from afar. It can do land targets as well, if needed.
bananapub•5mo ago
I love the passive voice the American media uses when an American right wing authority figure (cops, any Republican) is creating a situation whereby they are permitted to do violence.

to the extent "tensions [are] growing", it's the US murdering random people at sea and apparently trying to start a war with Venezuela.

this isn't some unfortunate situation, it's a deliberately contrived situation because the entire US elite rolled over and are just letting a bunch of lunatics destroy the country and indulge the whims of a weird old loser.
