Did you know in the US, pressing the four buttons in any order on the right side of the gas pump screen will mute the audio from whatever ad plays while you pump fuel?

Maybe there will be similar workarounds when you need another square of TP.

Are ad-supported bathrooms worse than not having public bathrooms at all, which is increasingly becoming the case in many "progressive" metros?

In the 1990s (and still?) one had to pay to use public bathrooms in some places in Europe (coin-operated stalls).
