You missed Thiel...
wltr•4mo ago
Look at him, still standing not banned!
dnemmers•4mo ago
His name appears on what appears to be Epstein's daily schedule, with the entry reading: "Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec.6 (is this still happening?)"
lawlessone•4mo ago
>They show Musk as a potential visitor to Epstein's island, Little St James, on 6 December 2014 - six years after Epstein became a listed sex offender.

even Trump had supposedly broken contact with him long before then..

edit: considering Theil is also in there too. I wonder do they want to avoid revealing where Epstein's money went after he died?

doublerabbit•4mo ago
Trump is supposedly making America great again. We know that's not true.
lawlessone•4mo ago
I know, and considering Elon used these same files as ammo against Trump only a few months ago it makes you wonder...
givemeethekeys•4mo ago
I predict this horse will keep limping for at least another year, at which point it will get buried alive by another scandal / crisis.
andrewinardeer•4mo ago
It'll need to be a monumental scandal. Nothing seems to stick with Teflon Don.
michaelteter•4mo ago
The normalization of deviancy has reached the point where nothing matters.

How many times since 2015 has the word “unprecedented” been used in association with something he was involved in?

Bender•4mo ago

Am I the only person who thought they would have burned everything in a dumpster by now, and degaussed every hard drive and just denied that Epstein even existed? Given how much effort they were putting into prevaricating, claiming it was all a Democrat hoax, that no such files existed, or that Epstein never did anything wrong? Wasn't Ghislane moved to Texas to shut her up?

That there are actually still files to release is baffling. I assume the release was judiciously selective and that none of the files will implicate Trump, and all of them will implicate Democrats and people he doesn't like.

Jtsummers•4mo ago
> I assume the release was judiciously selective and that none of the files will implicate Trump, and all of them will implicate Democrats and people he doesn't like.

From the subheading of the fine article:

>> The Duke of York is named as a passenger on the sex offender's private jet in documents released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee in the US.

Unless there's some other group of Democrats who are releasing these documents, I doubt it'll be so selective as to avoid naming Trump and implicate many Democrats instead.

tempesttea•4mo ago
The first filter is the CIA staffers and computers in the Senate, the second filter is the Senators themselves.. That leaves politically neutral leaks or a total pariah.
potato3732842•4mo ago
>That there are actually still files to release is baffling.

Do we even trust what they're releasing isn't doctored or selected to be politically advantageous to those doing the releasing?

godshatter•4mo ago
These files are worth their weight in gold if they actually do have compromising data on many different people in power. Lists of people who flew on Epstein's plane is hardly incriminating from a legal perspective, it's only valuable for cancelling others. It's the suspected pictures and videos of the rich and powerful in compromising positions with underage girls that we'll never see, assuming they do exist. Unless someone doesn't play ball, that is.

Yes, I'm a cynic, but if there wasn't much there they wouldn't be playing so many games.

LightBug1•4mo ago
Considering one of Musk's pressing priorities with grok was waifu girls, and the weird 'pedo guy' accusation (projection?), I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if there was more to this story.
none2585•4mo ago
Completely unsurprising and completely inconsequential.
billy99k•4mo ago
"One line in the records dated 6 December 2014 reads: "Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)"

It's a nothing burger. Musk already said he was invited and declined, which matches what they found.

Even Trump admits he was friends with Epstein. If they actually had evidence of wrong doing, it would have been released a decade ago to the press.

Friends != guilty of anything. Democrats have been friends with evil dictators over the years and it's never mentioned again.

If you have proof, let's see it.

clipsy•4mo ago
> If you have proof, let's see it.

Weird demand to make considering you're defending a person (Trump) who could release the Epstein files and end this entire discussion at any time.

Zigurd•4mo ago
Two things about this:

1. This is a national security matter. Epstein's business, such as it was, wasn't pimping the underage to rich men, it was blackmailing for his own account and selling blackmail material to anyone willing to pay him enough. That means state actors. And that means we can't trust anyone who was in Epstein's circle with national security work.

2. It wasn't just underage females. Gay men can be blackmailed, too.

k310•4mo ago
I believe it very likely that some extremely well known people are in there, and whom politicians are desperate to defend, if not themselves.

The problem is that Epstein loved to hang around celebrities who presumably had no interest in his crimes, or who were only connected by financial matters.

There is a map of his known contacts. No implication. "We mapped Jeffrey Epstein's social network. Here's what we found." [0]

It is part of this article. [1]
