Duolingo doesn't work. The platform is oriented to play with your dopamine and give you false sense of accomplishment while taking your money and keeping you active with their streak system. I created Nihondex because I wasn’t making real progress with platforms like Duolingo or Bunpro. I tried Anki cards as many other learners rely on to learn a language but the system of Anki is way too primitive. I started to build Nihondex by aggregating the best out of every solution. This platform was built by a student learning so this is very different from the other big companies trying to grab your dopamine without giving you the progress you deserve.

After building the first versions of Nihondex I managed to go from zero knowledge to passing the JLPT N5 in under three months. That kind of progress felt incredible and it showed me that the approach really works.

I am still actively developing it and making it better and better as I get more feedbacks from the users
