He was falsely accused of Title IX violations (e.g. sexual harassment or discrimination). The investigation concluded that he didn't do anything wrong.

But Carol Christ, the chancellor, decided to reverse the investigation's conclusion and stripped John's emeritus status.

Holy. This Carol Christ person is evil.
