Ask HN: Who's Looking for Cofounders (October 2025)

6•kristopolous•4mo ago
This is a new monthly post for pre-funded, self-funded, or not-for-profit ventures to help people connect on early stage projects.

This is for high risk projects where there is no guarantee of compensation.

Here's the format:

Location | In person/remote | Short topic | Languages (if primarily non-English)

< Who are you >

< What you're doing >

< What you're looking for >

< Contact >

A full example:

Portland | Remote | Animal translator

I’m an avid birder and hobbyist AI developer.

I’ve got a speech-to-speech model on Huggingface that takes human imitation of bird calls and generates the intended birdcall.

I'm looking for an auditory zoologist to extend the model to dog barks and cat purrs. This is probably not for profit but I'm open to possibilities.

Fort Worth | Remote | Developer, Manager, Software Architect

* Who - I am Austin Cheney. I am a part time military officer and military technology principle. In the real world I am a manager of a development team focused on enterprise API management and system integration.

* What - I am currently doing the full time job and writing personal software on the side. I am looking for something to be passionate about. I am not a business leader and would need a CEO co-founder. I can start out writing the MVP and early product versions before we have the money to hire developers. I would write everything in TypeScript and it will be insanely fast. I set extremely high/unpopular standards and would impose high standards on any technologists we hire, because the product is more important than the people writing it.

* Contact - my email is in my profile. Send me an email and we can trade phone numbers.
