Show HN: BetterBrain – Dementia prevention, covered by insurance

https://www.betterbrain.com/insurance
22•adi4213•4mo ago
Hey all! I’ve been building BetterBrain for the past few months, which is the first dementia prevention program entirely covered by insurance. BetterBrain combines expert clinicians, comprehensive testing and state of the art AI - and for many insurance plans is $0. Research shows that dementia can be detected up to 20 years in advance. Despite this, many people at risk of dementia overlook regular brain health assessments. Many members of our founding team have family members affected by neurodegenerative disease.

We’re also hiring aggressively if anyone is interested in changing the future of treating neurodegenerative disease.

Would love to talk to anyone interested https://www.betterbrain.com/insurance

For others without insurance coverage or interested in just exploring the platform for free : https://app.betterbrain.com/signup

In my area (USA) it's pretty much impossible to get in with a neurologist unless you want to wait like 6 months. Do you have to meet with a neurologist at some point with your service? I will check the free link now, thanks!
adi4213•4mo ago
This is very much part of the motivation behind BetterBrain, the wait for an in-network neurologist is often 6+ months, but the wait for one of the few in-person dementia prevention clinics can be years (and cost thousands out of pocket). If your insurance plan covers BetterBrain, definitely recommend giving our insurance covered option a try to meet with a clinician as soon as next week. We do have a free option, with the ability to purchase bloodwork and additional testing.

Looks to be US only? Any plans to expand to Canada? If not, are there paid options where I can visit the US to utilize this service (perhaps pick a border state like NY or Vermont)?
adi4213•4mo ago
Yes, there are indeed paid options! We regularly support clients who travel to NY or Vermont for bloodwork. Our co-founder is Canadian and we work with many clients from Canada. Could you shoot me an email and our team can help figure out the logistics? adi@betterbrain.com (Happy to send you a discount code)
