There is no world in which the automation of human-level intelligence pans out well politically. You would just have a single superpower controlling the world.

There is no such thing as an AI that is safe "except for jobs or whatever". The automation of all labor will destroy the world as we know it. The problem cannot be solved through UBI because the recipients of the UBI will have no leverage to ensure its existence, even as a fighting force.

This is just the normie attitude of "everything is going to be fine". 99% of the time everything is fine, so this is a really good strategy until it isn't.
