Preliminary data provided by UHN shows 48 Dunn House residents had made 685 emergency room visits to Toronto hospitals in the six months before moving in. That dropped to 252 visits in the six months post-move, the data shows, with more than 70 per cent of those visits in the first three months when staff say the transition period was at its height.
Hospital bed days have similarly plunged from a collective 858 days in the year preceding move-in to a forecasted 53 days in Dunn House’s first year.
