This will be a live event. The stakes are high so I expect it to do well. I also expect he already knows he can do it easily as he will just be repeating the same section over and over for most of it.

That's kind of odd. It's a very different kind of climbing from natural rock, or even gyms. I'd expect it to be either fairly easy or literally impossible -- the required holds either exist or they don't. It will be far more repetitive, and is a test of bravery and endurance rather than skill.
