RFK Jr pushes fringe claim linking autism to circumcision

I have no comment but for the hero pic at the top, as I look at the other people in that meeting. And then it occurred to me: can you imagine having to sit through a cabinet meeting listening to that nut job? Man, I thought I'd had some bad work meetings in my time...
arp242•3mo ago
What's next? Eating seedless grapes causes autism? Being rained on after midnight causes autism? Kryptonite causes autism? Is there an "things RFK Jr. will next claim to cause autism" bet on those app thingies yet?

Well, at least ranting about circumcision is better than ranting about vaccines.

> What's next? ... Being rained on after midnight causes autism?

Thats just silly, everyone knows eating after midnight causes autism, and being rained on causes one to spawn autistic clones

basisword•3mo ago
He's a loon, but every headline I've seen on this seems to misrepresent him. He's not saying circumcision is a cause of autism. He's saying it's correlated and likely because children are given Tylenol for the pain in recovery. Bullshit but worth clarifying.
WarOnPrivacy•3mo ago

As far as the cause of autism is
    inferred,
    framed,
    stated or
presented in a way that a meaningful cause and effect is reasonably deduced
to be an effect of receiving tylenol and/or receiving a circumcision,
    that information is a lie.
Particularly so when an entire population of actual qualified experts have informed you that your inference, framing, statement and presentation are patently false - and even though you are well informed of the well-established facts of the matter, you continue to advance the false information.

The person who does this is a serial liar.

It is a pity that the real discussion gets drowned out by this crazy connection. Child mutilation should be outlawed without even investigating RFK's autism theories.
lucasban•3mo ago
Right - if it results in fewer children having body parts removed unnecessarily, at least something positive will have come of this.
general1465•3mo ago
So... what if a girl has autism?

When I read the title, I honestly thought this was a meme
