If it cannot be 100% functional while working completely independently from the cloud, I don’t want it. Which is why most of my sound system involves Pioneer units - some of which were built using vacuum tubes - from the 70s and 80s. With judicious maintenance and careful use, they’ll likely last me for the rest of my life and do an exemplary job of playing music.

Brands don't seem to matter anymore. Everything connected is not under your control and companies will cripple your device when they feel like it.
