Okay, but be careful what you wish for. Here in Colorado, USA, I have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of weather forecasting after 2000 staff were cut from NOAA. Also, weather balloon launches are said to be less frequent. Good weather data is not important to most citizens, but in this area, quality forecasts can help to avoid personal harm when outdoors, and even property damage due to hailstorms. Farmers also need to have an idea of when they can safely work their fields.
