Bannon Claims 'There Is a Plan' for Trump to Run for a Third Term

The worst timeline. "not consecutive, therefor legal!!1~" is just some "i'm not touching you!"-level logic.
cranberryturkey•3mo ago
i don't think anyone will start paying attention until we start breaking shit.
bigyabai•3mo ago
Day 24 of the government shutdown btw
cranberryturkey•3mo ago
It won't open up until people are burning flags in the streets...it's supposed to go until january perhaps. also this is their plan to steal the purse strings from congress into the executive branch.

Trump won't even finish his second term so there is no point in worrying about any plans for a 3rd term.
Trasmatta•3mo ago
Everyone seems to love saying that, but some people manage to live a surprisingly long time, despite an outwardly unhealthy lifestyle. He could be around for another decade. And if he is still around in 2028, he will do everything in his power to STAY in power.
JohnFen•3mo ago
We can't count on any cavalry, not even old age, to come to our rescue. It's not coming. We have to take care of this problem ourselves (and don't be fooled -- the problem isn't really Trump, he's just the Useful Idiot of the moment). Almost every guardrail has already failed. The final one is the people -- literally you and me. If we're going to have any chance at all of retaining our nation, we can't let that one fail as well.
_wire_•3mo ago
Aye, he is making so many people so unhappy in so many domains he may become unviable and have to resign, a la Nixon.
krapp•3mo ago
Why would Trump resign? The world may hate him, Americans may hate him, even his own party may hate him, but he seems to be having the time of his life. Have you seen the space he's clearing for the ballroom?
JohnFen•3mo ago
There's zero chance he'll ever resign. On the contrary, he'll keep doing everything he can to remain in power for as long as he lives.

We're going to have to throw him out.

My grandmother used to say, evil outlives good.
cosmicgadget•3mo ago
"Guy most famous for 'flood the zone' political tactic makes outrageous claim during troubling times for his boss."

Nah.

Grosvenor•3mo ago
That's how they do it - flood the zone with absurd absolutely unacceptable things they want to do. Most of it gets cut down, but some of it makes it through.

It's very clear that they're not planning on leaving.

From gerrymandering, to owning the companies that count the votes, pardoning J6 assaulters it's very clear they don't intend to leave willingly.

cosmicgadget•3mo ago
Seems like you'd do all of those things regardless of having a plan to run for a third term.
sigwinch•3mo ago
Seems like it’s fraud to raise donations using the slogan “Trump 2028”, but that’s Bannon for ya.
k310•3mo ago
If true, (extremely unlikely) could Obama then run?

Trump would also be ~82 years old in 2028.

wmf•3mo ago
It's not about rules; it's specifically about Trump doing whatever he wants. He's getting away with things that no other president would be allowed to do.
k310•3mo ago
Laws, unless they are charged and enforced, are merely suggestions.
treetalker•3mo ago
Somehow Palpatine returned.
brador•3mo ago
Constitution says “elected”, my guess is puppet gets elected then vp is trump, puppet resigns, trump in again.

It will be sneaky.

John23832•3mo ago
You’re ineligible to vp if you are ineligible to be president.

Edit: it seems that interpretation of the 22 is up for debate. Whether it’s just elections, or all forms of succession.
